When news “broke” about the discovery of liquid water gushing over the slopes of Mars this week, the world went Red Planet insane… And they believe that’s something we have to be very mindful of.

During a news conference this week, NASA announced that, using spectral analysis, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter detected what scientists believe to be definitive signs of liquid water on Mars.

“Scientists announced with a high degree of certainty that we’re now sure there is water on mars, and if you look at where humans have gone before on this planet, we’ve always followed the water“.

No, the orbiter didn’t detect water flowing through mythical “canals” once thought to be crisscrossing the red planet’s surface.
