The first round of talks brokered by Pakistan between representatives of the Afghan government and Tehreek-i-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) concluded Wednesday in Murree, with both parties agreeing to meet again.

The attack occurred Sunday evening when the driver of an explosives-laden vehicle rammed his auto into a police checkpoint in Khost City, the capital of the eastern province of Khost.

The bomber detonated the explosives at a military roadblock near the entrance to Camp Chapman, said Faizullah Ghairat, the Khost city police chief.
