Two American servicemen who helped foil an attack on a train in Europe traveled to Germany on Monday, where one will receive additional medical care for injuries suffered in a tussle with the gunman, the Pentagon said.

Three Americans who had a hand in taking down a would-be global terrorist in France last week, have been awarded the country’s highest acknowledgement; the Legion of Honor.

As the train passed through Belgium, the three subdued the gunman, tackling him in the train aisle, grabbing his rifle and tying him up.

He added that it also will be up to each service’s uniform regulations to determine whether Stone and Skarlatos can wear the Legion of Honor; generally foreign awards are not worn except “under certain circumstances when you’re in dress uniform”.
