Google launched Android Pay in the U.S. to take on Apple Pay, with the service rolling out to one million locations and growing.

Now the search giant is taking another stab at phone-based transactions, bringing the fight directly to Apple Pay with the aptly, and imaginatively named Android Pay.

Note, however, that this isn’t an official launch date from Apple, but rather a leak, albeit one from several sources.
