PARIS (AP) – When Islamic State extremists lost control of a key crossroads town in northern Syria in June, some militants shed their jihadi garb and blended in with the flood of Syrians fleeing across the Turkish border.

Nolan and Ellison have been pushing for even more – between 100,000 and 200,000 refugees to be relocated in the United States by the end of 2016.

To make the operations effective, deployment of ground troops is a prerequisite, and the United States has been exerting efforts toward this end by training local forces. Other estimates have put ISIS numbers even higher.
