After spinning west across the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Erika is finally ready to pay a visit to the islands. Cloud tops around Erika’s center were near -63F/-53C, indicating strong thunderstorms.

“We will see a couple of stronger storms, with lightning and strong wind gusts, as well as heavy downpours”, Bridges said.

The storm’s maximum sustained winds late were near 45 miles per hour . The National Hurricane Center tell news that Erika is moving “quickly toward the West”.

TWC has been reporting sustained, substantial drought in Puerto Rico this season, so locals are expecting Tropical Storm Danny to deliver some much-missed and needed moisture to the island.

Danny is expected to bring 2-4 inches of rain to the Leeward Islands, and drought-stricken Puerto Rico will get some as well.

As of the latest advisory from the NHC, Danny poses no immediate threat to land.
