The event’s organizer, radio host Erick Erickson, offered similar sentiments when he booted Trump after his statements on CNN.

During the debate, Kelly asked Trump to respond to derogatory statements he had made in the past about women, calling them “fat pigs” for example.

Influential Conservative columnist and blogger Erick Erickson has now disinvited Donald Trump from the annual RedState Gathering, after comments made by the billionaire Republican presidential candidate during a CNN interview Friday night.

The organizer of the Red State Gathering of conservative activists said Saturday he “dis-invited” Donald Trump from his event because of indecent comments about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. “It just was wrong”, he said.

Kelly has been invited in Trump’s place to speak on Saturday night.

The Washington Post noted that Trump harangued Megyn Kelly’s abilities as a journalist, calling her “a lightweight” and “highly overrated”.

“So picking a fight with Kelly – as Trump did when he chided her during a tough debate question about insults he’s lobbed at women, dissed her in the spin room, and tweeted his complaints about her – carries risks that Trump’s other feuds do not”.
