Eurostar has its highest-ever quarterly passenger result, with more than 2.8m customers travelling between the United Kingdom and the continent in the second quarter.
Some of the thousands of illegal immigrants camped in Calais and desperately trying to cross the Channel to reach Britain took advantage of the chaos to climb onto immobilised vehicles, said an AFP reporter on the scene.
A Eurotunnel spokesman said: “Up to 150 migrants stormed the tunnel, which caused disruption to services leading to delays and cancellations for customers”.
