Samsung have released a new phone cover for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5, which comes with a keyboard, very much like the ones you’ve seen on BlackBerry handsets.
A full wireless charge could be obtained on both phone models in two hours, according to Samsung. It came as a little surprise when Sammy decided to have the same 16MP one for the Samsung Galaxy S6, but we were hoping that it will bump up the camera MPs in the new Note.
The moves are aimed at keeping the South Korean giant on top the global smartphone market and countering US rival Apple, which has made gains with its large-screen iPhone 6 and 6-Plus and its tap-to-pay feature.
The Note 5 is available in Black Sapphire and White Pearl colors. BlackBerry, with its full qwerty keyboard, was the mobile device of choice for business users and, for a time, teenagers.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ was unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event on Thursday, where the firm also announced that the long-awaited Galaxy Note 5 won’t see a release in the UK – not yet, at least.
While Galaxy S6 Edge+ weighs 153 grams, Note 5 is slightly heavier at 171 grams. The company has not yet disclosed prices for the new devices, but sources said the Note5 will be launched in India in September this year, while the S6 Edge+ will hit stores in the third week of August.
The main thrust of Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event was to launch the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, but the company also provided some details about Samsung Pay.
