Google Inc. announced yesterday it will bring its high-speed fiber-optic Internet service to San Antonio, the latest victor among U.S. cities vying for it.

Prices for Google Fiber are comparable or below what most households already pay.

That said, Fiber Basic is actually already free on a monthly basis, but includes a $300 construction fee (also payable in $25 installments) to get the infrastructure running.
