The man accused of shooting and killing a Kentucky State Police trooper on Sunday night was shot and killed while being apprehended. He was shot and killed after failing to comply with officers’ commands to drop his weapon, law enforcement officials said.

Residents in the area are urged to use caution because Johnson-Shanks is considered armed and risky. Two juveniles under the age of six were also in the vehicle.
