Prosecutors have declined to charge Caitlyn Jenner in fatal auto crash in California.

Sheriff’s Detective Richard Curry told the Los Angeles Times Jenner was not speeding, but was driving at an unsafe speed for the road conditions.

Because Jenner has no prior record, it’s unlikely she would face any jail time if prosecutors charge her with vehicular manslaughter and she’s convicted, said Daniel W. Vomhof, an accident reconstructionist who has testified in 3,500 cases.

Jenner was hauling an off-road vehicle on a trailer behind her Cadillac Escalade on February 7 when she steered to avoid cars slowing for a traffic light in front of her on Pacific Coast Highway.

Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said investigators have concluded that Jenner’s driving was “unsafe for the prevailing road conditions” (via The AP).

On February 7, Jenner was driving along the Pacific Coast Highway when her Escalade hit another vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash.
