ORIGINAL ENTRY: The distant launch of a small Russian Progress spacecraft, laden with more than three tons of supplies for the global Space Station, would ordinarily command little attention.

The unmanned Progress M-28M spacecraft, carrying 2.5 metric tons of fuel, oxygen, water, food and other supplies, linked up with the station two days after it launched aboard a Russian rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

According to reports, a Russian rocket became successful in launching an uncrewed cargo ship to the worldwide Space Station after failure of two previous supply missions in a row.

An unmanned Russian rocket is scheduled to blast off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 12:55 a.m. ET Friday on a supply run to the worldwide Space Station.
