Pakistan’s national security adviser insisted yesterday that he was ready to travel to New Delhi for talks with his Indian counterpart despite a row between the arch-rivals over his planned meeting with Kashmiri separatist leaders.

Ending the suspense, Pakistan tonight called off the India-Pakistan NSA-level talks, hours after India made it clear that discussions on Kashmir and a meeting with separatists will not be acceptable.

“These are issues for the two to resolve together, and that’s what we continue to encourage is a resumption of dialogue between the leaders of both India and Pakistan”, he said.
