“Congress wants to tarnish the image of the Prime Minister and the government and they don’t want Modi government to succeed”, he alleged. “Sushma Swaraj should come to parliament, but she should resign on grounds of propriety”, he said.

“Regret to see India led by such so-called leaders!!”, Vadra had said in his post. Taking their cue from Mrs Gandhi, Congress MPs trooped into the Well of the House and plunged it into pandemonium.

But just weeks later, embarrassing allegations ensnared Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj along with the chief ministers of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh where the right-wing BJP rules at the state level. He said the recent controversies have dented the party’s image.

Earlier, Congress party had planned to protest silently in parliament premises, but did not continue with the plan.

Congress on Thursday ruled out talks with the government for breaking the logjam in Parliament, making it clear that it will continue till its demand for resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and BJP chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan is met.
