He’s been dumped. Donald Trump was banned from an important RedState conservative gathering after he took a menstruation jab at Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, who just moderated the GOP presidential candidate debate in Cleveland.
“Hidden agenda” speculation: In recent weeks there has been a lot of curiosity about Fox’s Trump coverage, given the channel’s importance in conservative circles and Fox owner Rupert Murdoch’s criticism of Trump.
The businessman got a bit of a grilling from Fox journalist Megyn Kelly during the first Republican presidential debate and appeared to try and pin it on her time of the month.
And I’ve been very sympathetic to Donald Trump because so numerous people who have led the party astray refuse to even treat him as a legitimate candidate.
In contrast to the Fox Information debates that divided the 17-candidate subject into two teams on crowded levels, the RedState Gathering in Atlanta provided a number of of these looking for the Republican nomination a half-hour all to themselves.
But like I say, it’s savvy to accuse Fox of being out to get him: The jet fuel in the rocket of Trumpmania is that the GOP powers that be can’t handle the hard truths he’s been telling (like how effective single-payer health care is).
Those statements followed inflammatory comments Trump made about Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly, who was one of several moderators to question him at the first GOP primary debate the evening before.
24 million Americans watched on television, making it the highest rated primary debate in history. The ten contenders, trump in the middle. Many more raised their hands in answer to the first question. Mostly because Donald Trump was involved.
Trump said that was true of Rosie O’Donnell and he didn’t care if Kelly didn’t like his comments about women. “In my opinion, she was off-base”. They call me the ratings machine.
