Hector Moreno has apologized to Luke Shaw for the tackle and took to Twitter to wish the Englishman a speedy recovery. The leg break was made even worse by that fact that Shaw, 20, was putting in several stunning displays to start the season with United and England.

PSV Eindhoven defender Hector Moreno has admitted he is praying for Manchester United’s Luke Shaw after he made the tackle that caused the full-back to suffer a double fracture of his leg on Tuesday.

United declined to comment any further on the matter, but it is understood that Shaw will have a second operation at the Dutch hospital as part of his recovery on Friday.

Shaw had an operation on the leg at the St Anna Ziekenhuis hospital on the outskirts of Eindhoven on the night of the match and stayed there until he was given the all clear to return to Manchester on Saturday.
