Paul McGrath says that Jack Grealish could have been “the top player for Ireland” had he stuck with the Boys in Green and believes that the Aston Villa midfielder’s chances with England will be limited.
Speaking to the Aston Villa website, Sherwood said: “Hopefully Jack has cleared his mind now and we’re looking for a few improved performances from him now on the pitch, so those worldwide managers are very excited and choose to pick him”.
FOUR Derby County players have been named in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Georgia.
The winners of the nine European groups qualify automatically for the World Cup with the eight best runners-up facing off in two-legged playoffs for the remaining four spots.
