In an attempt to create a “leaner and more agile” company, Angry Birds developer Rovio is planning to fling pink slips at up to 260 employees, the Finnish firm announced on Wednesday.

That means concentrating on making hits like Angry Birds, as well as finishing out an animated movie based on the series.

While it might be tough for the game to reclaim the enthusiasm with which the 2009 original was received, the newest raging Birds still has a couple of things to be excited about.

But this is the first title that carries the official sequel status, mad Birds 2. What we haven’t seen, though, is a proper sequel to the game that started the craze of flinging birds at walls and blocks.
