AMC Networks Inc., the cable network operator that owns shows including “The Walking Dead“, is back in talks to acquire billionaire John Malone’s Starz, another TV programmer, according to people familiar with the matter.

Director and EP Sam Raimi, who helmed the original “Dead” franchise, said he would gladly direct another film if Campbell was signed on to the project.

In fact, Campbell reveals that a lack of content restrictions was a prime requirement, when the Ash vs Evil Dead team began searching for a distributor.

There was lots of talk, and more talk, but after a few years, it actually materialized: a new series from Starz featuring Campbell, called “Ash Vs. Evil Dead“. Raimi, Campbell and Robert Tapert will executive produce the show, which will premiere on October 31, 2015.
