The National Institutes of Health announced a clinical trial to test the safety of a West Nile vaccine in humans after it successfully protected mice from lethal doses of the virus in lab tests. The sample, a Culex pipiens-restuans, was collected on June 23, 2015 in Selden, NY.
Weber-Morgan health officials are warning residents after mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile Virus near Riverdale. There were 108 human cases of West Nile virus reported statewide in 2014, 93 of which were in Maricopa County.
