Taj Mahal is now on Twitter!

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today slammed opposition parties for “politicising” the killing of an army jawan by miscreants in Meerut and criticised them for disrupting the Assembly, where they can corner the government on such issues.

Tourism industry sources in Agra said the Twitter handle was expected to give feedback to officials and would help address grievances. It is one of the seven wonders of the world.

Taj Mahal, which goes by the handle @TajMahal on Twitter already has a verified account and almost 2,000 followers at the time of writing this.

The official inauguration of the twitter handle took place this morning after several days of suspense – the Agra circle of the Archaeological Survey of India had denied permission to hold the event at the Taj, citing security and environmental concerns.
