Takeaways from Chicago Bears-New England Patriots first joint practice
AUGUST 11: at Soldier Field on August 11, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois. A few teammates then noticed the pushing and shoving, and at that point, nearly everyone on both teams chose to join the melee.
The Chicago Bears and New England Patriots conducted their first joint practice on Monday in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
On Monday, The New England Patriots and the Chicago Bears were holding joint practices awaiting their Thursday night matchup during week 2 of preseason games.
The first was a fight between Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery and Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler. According to those watching the practice, the fight in happened near the sidelines with Bears owner George McCaskey nearby.
Afterwards, another minor scuffle took place during field goal drills between LaMarr Houston-who has been involved in a few fights at Bears practices already-Pats guard Nate Solder, and everyone’s favorite ex-Bear/current Patriot, Martellus Bennett (who has apparently been dropping passes all day). Neither player would participate in the rest of the practice. Both teams got involved and the fight spilled off the field.
Fuller did not practice Sunday morning, and the team’s left him behind for further evaluation when it flew to Providence, R.I., Sunday afternoon.
