Tales From The Borderlands Episode 4: Escape Plan Bravo Trailer Released
While normally that would be a bad thing for a game, it actually works to TFTB’s favor.
Escape Plan Bravo takes this to new heights, as it brilliantly lampoons some of film’s more cliche devices. As outlandish as they are, the patchwork family at the centre of Tales from the Borderlands is made up of some of the most lovable, relatable characters I’ve ever seen in a videogame.
‘Escape Plan Bravo’ is the fourth and penultimate episode of series, and if you know Telltale Games, you will likely expect that this is going to be the craziest episode (though not necessarily the longest). This is certainly Tales From The Borderlands’ most direct outing so far. Hey, it wouldn’t be a proper heist if everything went the way it was planned, now would it?
The last episode left Fiona, Rhys, Loader Bot, and the rest of the gang in a particularly unenviable position – at the mercy of Vallory, one of Pandora’s most ruthless gangsters. It can get a little hairy at times on a keyboard and mouse set up, but that’s more due to my own lack of practice with those kinds of controls. There’s also the fact that Handsome Jack himself is now in Rhys’ head.
It’s all looking like a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to see what shape everything is in for the final episode – what’s the deal with the past and present narratives anyway and are they eventually going to collide?!
So “Escape Plan Bravo” feels like another solid entry in the series, with a few big moments connected together by a great script, snappy dialogue, and the same wit and humor that’s been on display since the beginning. In fact, TFTB has been consistently easy on the eyes, which has been a boon to the overall experience from day one. So the nice people at Telltale thought they would give us a trailer to get us ready. We will get back to you on our impressions soon too.
