Tampa Bay Buccaneers Can’t Always be Happy With Jameis Winston

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were trailing the Cleveland Browns 14-0 and were facing a third-and-11 from their own 24-yard line late in the first quarter of their preseason game Saturday.

The third preseason game is always considered to be the dress rehearsal for the regular season.

McCown should play the majority of the game not just as the number one quarterback. Those guys have to be on the same page and understand where each other is going to be. It’s human nature to crave a shared, communal experience, and if you can eat some food and get a buzz going, all the better.

Iosefa, a fullback from Hawaii, played just one offensive snap in Saturday’s preseason loss to the Browns. “I saw Kwon chasing after him, and I thought Josh was going to get down”. Being generous, I would say that Winston should have thrown 3 interceptions in this game, but you could make the argument that 5 could have been picked.

Pettine said McCown will not play in Thursday’s exhibition finale at Chicago, and that some of Cleveland’s other starters will be rested as the team gears up for the September 13 opener against the Jets. Evans does have a hamstring injury, but is expected back for Week 1. Slot cornerback Leonard Johnson and wide receiver Kenny Bell have been ruled out, diminishing both players’ chances of making the team – though Bell’s likely to stick regardless. I say that partially because I have been watching how poised Marcus Mariota has looked in the pocket and there is a clear difference.

The Bucs get on the board in the 2nd quarter. Since Day 2 of training camp, Tampa Bay was changing up defenses and sending blitzes at Winston.
