Tarantino joins activists to protest police brutality in NYC
Producer Quentin Tarantino attended a New York City rally against police brutality on Saturday, where he made his stance on the matter clear.
“I have to call a murder a murder, and I have to call the murderers the murderers”, Tarantino told a crowd of NYC protesters on Saturday in Washington Square Park, saying that cops are too often “murderers”.
“I hope that everyone, not only black and brown people, but purple or blue people, everybody stands up”, she added.
“I’m a human being with a conscience”, said Tarantino, who flew in from California for the event, according to the Associated Press.
The Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained filmmaker marched with protestors and spoke out against the killing of unarmed African-Americans over the weekend in New York City during the “Say Their Name” a.k.a. #RiseUpOctober rally.
The director’s comments irked police bosses in the Big Apple; they’ve called on police officers and their families to boycott his films.
“It’s no surprise that someone who makes a living glorifying crime and violence is a cop-hater, too”.

Tarantino honored 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who was killed by Cleveland police for holding a BB gun. While things were calm at the start of the event, things got heated as protesters got close to Bryant Park. Along the way, police provided traffic control even as demonstrators chanted, shouted stories of dead loved ones from the hands of police officers and used vile gestures.
