Target announces Cyber Monday discounts
Black Friday has traditionally been the competitive shopping holiday for larger retail stores, with a specialty in cheap deals on tech items. Target also plans to offer 75 virtual deals.
“It can be exhausting for working parents and millenials to stay up past midnight to shop online, only to wake up early the next day to get ready for work”, Fernando Madeira, President and CEO of Walmart.com, said in a statement.
Target is heating up with their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, and even offering compelling discounts throughout Cyber Week this holiday season – kicking off with 15% off sitewide. The name was also a nod to online shopping being done at work where faster connections made it easier to browse. The latest release from the retailer suggests that the deepest discounts will be felt on Cyber Monday, but the deals are going to continue all throughout Cyber Week – which is a sign of the changing times.
The Xbox will be available as an online doorbuster in limited quantities, so if you’re a fan of EA sports games of any and all kinds, need an Xbox Live subscription and are willing to take your chances, it might be a good idea to wait until after Black Friday to pick up your Xbox One.
This year, Target, Walmart and Best Buy are three of the stores participating in Cyber Monday, CyberMonday2015.com reports.
The stepped up promotions come as both Wal-Mart and Target have seen their online sales rising at a slower pace.
In addition to the Sunday evening start to online sales, Walmart said it will again offer its “Evening Edition”, aimed at giving consumers another shopping opportunity after work on Monday.
A 65 inch LG 4K Ultra HDTV for $799 plus free shipping as well as a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for $599 are among the products being sold during the discount shopping days.
