Target’s website crashes on Cyber Monday
It seems both Target and Paypal have underestimated Cyber Monday and are unprepared for the high traffic that the celebration caused. Target said traffic was already twice as high as its busiest day ever, but that the site was not down.
Cyber Monday, immediately following Thanksgiving, is one of the biggest online shopping holidays of the year. “We have resolved the issue and customers can pay with PayPal on Cyber Monday”. “We continue to receive and process thousands of orders from guests who are shopping the entire site and taking advantage of the discount coupled with free shipping”.
Target experienced a website crash on Cyber Monday.
About an hour or two later, the website was slowly coming back but with glitches.
Target’s stock lost more than 1 percent Monday morning and were lower by more than 1.5 percent by the afternoon. The retailer’s site, target.com, reportedly crashed around 9 a.m. central.
The data underscores the ongoing shift in shopping online, which makes up for slowing spending in stores.

Early morning is the best time for most to shop with 42% of those surveyed saying they would shop at that time on Monday.
The company added, “If you wouldn’t mind holding, we’ll refresh automatically & get things going ASAP”.
There are a lot of online retailers that are popular all year round but some of them experience an upsurge of popularity during sale times.
As part of its 10 Days of Deals, Target is offering 15 percent nearly all orders on its website.
