Taunton School Placed On Lockdown After Nearby Shooting

A high school in Taunton, Massachusetts, was placed into “shelter-in-place” mode Tuesday afternoon after one teenager allegedly shot another teen near Hopewell Park.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was shot at least three times by a 17-year-old suspect, who is now in custody.

“I was in the house and I heard a few screaming and I came outside, obviously very concerned for the children”, said witness, Lori Salvia.

The victim, identified only as a teenager male, was found at the scene and medflighted to a regional trauma center. There is no word yet on the charges he is facing. The victim had been walking with his girlfriend when they were approached by the suspect.
