Taylor Swift, Amal Clooney and Rihanna top Vanity Fair’s best dressed list
Vanity Fair editors compile the annual list, which for the first time featured a separate Hollywood segment for the movie world’s best-dressed stars.
No doubt many will be surprised by the publication’s decision to place Mrs Cameron’s so-called “conservative charm” above the 25-year-old Shake It Off singer’s “prep power”, however, it seems Mrs Cameron’s dedication to designer fashion helped her to nab the top spot.
American Misty Copeland, the first black dancer to be prima ballerina in the American Ballet Theater’s “Swan Lake” came in at number three, followed by another Brit, Sophie Countess of Wessex, 50.
Elsewhere, Samantha Cameron topped the Women’s best-dressed list as she noticed off robust competitors from the likes of Taylor Swift, Amal Clooney and Rihanna.
Another royal included on the men’s best-dressed list this year, was Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, being praised for the mess dress model 1878 uniform of the Swedish Amphibious Corps he wore to his wedding to Sofia Hellqvist.
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, usually a firm favourite for fashion picks, did not appear in the Top 10.
Emma Watson, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing were also named on the Hollywood list.
For the year’s best-dressed men, 65-year-old British actor Bill Nighy led the list, which also featured oil heir Stavros Niarchos III, Apple designer Jonathan Ive and Britain’s Prince Harry. Veteran British actor Bill Nighy, Prince Harry and football player Russell Wilson.
