Taylor Swift donates $50,000 to fan with leukemia
The pop star on Tuesday donated $50,000 to Naomi Oakes’ Go Fund Me account as the San Tan Valley 11-year-old battles leukemia.
Naomi, from Phoenix, Arizona, reached out to the superstar in the form of a video, after being told she’d be unable to attend the superstar’s concert due to her illness.
The family had simply hoped to get T-Swift’s attention with the video, “and maybe get her to share a #TeamNaomi on her Instagram“.
In a series of four separate donations, Taylor gave a total of $50,000 and left a sweet message on the GoFundMe page as well.
“You’re handsome and fearless Naomi”, the note said. “I was thinking “oh my goodness my favorite singer knows who I am and she just donated me money” it was a spectacular feeling it was awesome”. “I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family”, Swift wrote with her donation. Considering the GoFundMe goal was $30,000, the $50K donation has more than filled the request meter.
Clearly shocked by her idol’s generosity, Oakes then posted a video to express her delight, claiming that it might make her “pass out”.

Taylor Swift’s fans love her music, but it’s her random acts of kindness that continue to impress the “Swifties”.
In what was known as “Swiftmas”, the singer bought, hand-wrapped and sent Christmas and Hanukkah presents to some of her mega-fans a year ago. Isolation would mean being away from the public for the rest of the therapy, and in Naomi’s case, intense therapy was set for six to nine months.
The girl’s aunt wrote to the singer: “Thank you Taylor Swift. You’re an awesome caring person, and our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts”, from the family.
“I can barely breathe”.
