Taylor Swift is going to release her first mobile game
Buoyed by the success of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, mobile developer Glu has agreed to make Taylor Swift the star of a new mobile game, which should launch at the end of the year.
The mobile games publisher added that this will be Taylor Swift’s “first foray into the mobile gaming space”, after her previous app, Amex Unstaged: The Taylor Swift Experience, won an Emmy award in 2015.
It looks like Glu Mobile is cashing in on artists’ popularity, having already released similar mobile games for other famous artists like Jason Statham, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
In her game, players have to improve their celebrity reputation by gaining fans and go from E-list to A-List.
After conquering the music scene, pop superstar Taylor Swift now has her sights set on mobile gaming. “Glu is equally committed to designing never before seen gameplay elements that utilize Taylor’s unique creativity”.
For now, we’ll just have to wait for more details, but we can expect to start playing this mobile game in 2016, according to Swift’s website.
Taylor is very precarious about her media outlets and she will be involving herself in the money making process from the game. The “Shake it off” hitmaker is teaming up with Glu Mobile for a “new, one-of-a-kind digital gaming experience” which is now slated for a global release in the late 2016.
We’re personally looking forwards to Swift’s rendition of ‘Glu belong with me’, which will definitely be a thing as part of the deal.
As of the moment, Taylor Swift’s upcoming mobile game has a slim chance of flopping since the Pennsylvania native has approximately 74 million followers on Facebook, 70 million on Twitter and 65 million on Instagram.
