Taylor Swift Leads MTV Video Music Awards with Nine Nominations

Nominations for the awards will be released at 10:00 am on Tuesday, while voting will begin at 11;00 am.

Taylor’s various awesome videos – including “Blank Space” too – have also been nominated for five awards in the professional categories, including Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography.

He joined a list of popular artists in the same category, which also included British acts James Bay and FKA Twigs.

It looks like Swift thought Minaj took a shot at her all-star “Bad Blood” music video while complaining that “Anaconda” would have earned more VMAs nominations if it glorified “women with very slim bodies”.

Controversial singer Miley Cyrus has just confirmed that she will be hosting this year’s VMAs, and the “Wrecking Ball” star did it as usual pizzazz by posting the announcement with her tongue stuck out.

Other stars to feature heavily in the nominations included Taylor’s close friend Ed Sheeran.

We saw Taylor Swift debut a remixed version of “Bad Blood” before the Grammy Awards this year and it has since gone on to rack up viewing records left and right. The first photo shows Cyrus hidden behind the alien’s mask while wearing a sign that reads: “MTV won’t let me perform”, in reference to her infamous performance.

Miley Cyrus will have everyone watching the MTV Video Music Awards 2015 on their toes, unpredictable as she is, who knows what she has up in her sleeves. “I got an email from an Irish magazine asking ‘Can we interview you about your two VMA nominations?’ and I was like, ‘What are you talking about?'”.

Beyonce, Sia, Nicki Minaj and Ellie Goulding will battle Taylor for best female video, while Sheeran, Lamar, Ronson, the Weeknd and Nick Jonas will compete for best male video. The rest of the nominees are far more recent – “Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman“, Florence + The Machine’s “Ship To Wreck” and Walk The Moon’s ‘Shut Up and Dance”.
