Taylor Swift’s “1989” world tour album coming to Apple Music
Taylor Swift turned 26 on Sunday, December 13.
In a bit of a coup for Apple, the company’s streaming service, Apple Music, will be the exclusive home of Taylor Swift’s The 1989 World Tour LIVE release.
The special, titled “The 1989 World Tour Live”, is a documentary film of Swift’s world tour for her latest album, “1989”.
“I wonder what it would be like to perform for 70,000 people”, Swift said in a trailer for the special. Are they watching me proper now? If you just said “Sunday”, or “my mom’s birthday, I love her so much”, or “the day I’m finally going to go outside”, shame on you. “I’m so honored I get to share the last night of the 1989 World Tour with all of you”.
The partnership comes less than six months after Swift and Apple publicly made up following the artist’s call for the company to pay artist royalties during Apple Music’s free trial period. Apple quickly remedied the issue, and, if this announcement is any indication, appears to have officially joined Swift’s #squad.
The film will show Swift’s entire concert from her show at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium, including the musical guests who joined her onstage, as well as rehearsal video and other footage from her tour. In fact, an interview with the 26-year singer (today is her birthday) will be heard over Apple Music’s Beats 1 “radio station” starting at 12 noon EST on Monday. Swift’s tour featured a number of her hit songs, including ever track from “1989”, which has sold more than 5 million copies and earned her seven Grammy nominations, including album of the year.
Hadid also chimed in on Instagram with a video of the two of them hugging.
She wrote: “Dear Tay- Tomorrow is your birthday and I will be in the air”.
“I love you, I am profoundly proud of you, your Light is a rare and brilliant gift”.
Taylor Swift celebrated the success of the 1989 tour by taking her 125-person crew to Hamilton Island in Queensland, Australia.
Other fans also posted comments saying they’d rather see the the 31-year-old “Feel So Close” pop star in a relationship with 23-year-old model Karlie Kloss.
Some of Taylor’s closest pals including Jaime King and Selena Gomez took to social media to wish the singer a happy birthday.
