Taylor Swift Video Chats With Terminally Ill Teen
The 18-year-old was a first year student who majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
But she had never had a chance to talk to Taylor, her favorite pop star. “She’s not hanging out or going out on dates, so she spends a lot of time with the television”.
After her condition “worsened rapidly” her dad explained she qualified for help from Dream Foundation, a wish group for terminally ill adults, and wanted to speak to Taylor Swift.
Meghan is the 18-year-old daughter of Cincinnati Police Sgt. Daniel Hils, the president of Fraternal Order of Police Local 69. “@taylorswift”, she captioned a screenshot of the star’s donation. The Grammy victor and her fan chatted for close to a half an hour, with the content of their conversation to remain strictly between the two.
When she was four, the family applied for a Make-a-Wish, an organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, where Meghan met Loonette the Clown from the PBS Show, “The Big Comfy Couch”. “[Meghan] was truly starstruck”.
“I don’t think she really believed that it could happen or would happen, and it did”, her father added.
Meghan was pictured during the call, overcome with emotion, clutching her forehead and beaming at the phone.
My thank you note to @taylorswift13 for this day, Thursday, September 8th, 2016.
“No words could express how sorry I am for your loss”, Swift wrote on the page. Someone reached out to him on behalf of Taylor and said to stay put, Dan told The Cincinnati Enquirer. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart Taylor”, she tweeted. “It’s quite a motivator”.
