Tayshaun Prince joining Timberwolves
He called the experience and eye-opener.
One of the names that has been constantly attached to the Cleveland Cavaliers is Tayshaun Prince. Prince will be starting his 14th season in the National Basketball Association this fall.
More than just talent, coach Flip Saunders is counting on a veteran presence to change the Timberwolves defense around. Regardless, the focus won’t be on finding Miller, Prince, or Garnett minutes; it will be on developing their prospects in the way that’s going to help them best. Garnett is the definition of a leader, and he has held that title since his first go-around in Minnesota.
With Prince on the roster the Timberwolves now have 17 players, two more than the maximum of 15.
Prince entry does also bring up a matter concerning the team roster. Jordan Hamilton and Turkish player Hedo Turkoglu of the Los Angeles Clippers, who played with Orlando Magic prior to the move, might also join the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room. The Timberwolves already have Wiggins, Muhammad, Dieng, Towns, and Nemanja Bjelica who can play multiple positions.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to reach an agreement with regard the future of Tristan Thompson on the team.
Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com points out that the Cleveland Cavaliers will eventually benefit from the Thompson deal especially in light of the rise in salary cap soon. The person requested anonymity because the contract has not been signed.
A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that Tayshaun Prince has agreed to terms with the Wolves on a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum.
