Teacher accused of running illegal Strip Club
A Tennessee high school teacher is facing charges of operating an illegal adult strip club and promoting prostitution. For three months, police sent undercover officers inside the club at 3572 Commerce.
According to police they’ve been investigating the club since this past July, and they’ve made several prostitution deals inside the club.
Memphis police tell us, besides McCrimmon owning the night club, he is now a teacher at Raleigh-Egypt High School.
Detectives also bought drinks made with untaxed liquor because the business had no liquor license. “Therefore, we will have a substitute teacher for this teacher’s classes while the investigation continues”, Griffin said.
On Saturday, police raided the club and shut it down.
Police said he set prices for customers to have sex with the employees.
Walter McCrimmon, the owner of Walt’s Place, was arrested and charged with promoting prostitution, unlawful sale of alcohol, and money laundering.
Recent graduate Carnesia Pierce said she knows McCrimmon and was surprised by the charges.
“It makes parents look at the school in a different way. At this point, the teacher has been suspended without pay”.
He has been released on $50,000 bond.
