Team Irvin Spanks Team Rice In Offensive Dominated Pro Bowl
Mack, in his third Pro Bowl appearance, didn’t find the end zone like he did in 2011, but he came away with the victory.
Overall, four Dolphins players participated in the NFL’s annual all-star game.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee, Titans defensive end Jurrell Casey and Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith had interceptions for opportunistic Team Irvin.
Taylor, who made the Pro Bowl as an alternate after five of the six quarterbacks voted to the game decided not to go, threw three interceptions on 14 passes while playing for Jerry Rice’s team. The fantasy draft saw Team Irvin get first selection and with it he chose probably the best Quarterback in the late weeks of the league Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. The quarterback found rookie running back Todd Gurley for a 10-yard score and a 21-7 lead early in the second quarter.
Jameis Winston of Team Irvin got the ball after the interception and went deep to Delaine Walker, which pushed Team Irvin’s lead to 42-21 over Team Rice with under two minutes to play in the third quarter.
KELCE THANKFUL: Fresh off signing a contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs, tight end Travis Kelce took the practice field with Team Irvin. The NHL All-Star Game is probably a more entertaining option, and there is a three-hour American Ninja Warrior special beginning at 8 p.m., for what it’s worth. The Chiefs star, who signed a five-year, $46 million contract extension on Friday, finished with a game-high nine catches for 91 yards.
Minnesota’s Teddy Bridgewater also added two touchdown passes for Team Irvin. Miami’s Jarvis Landry also had a touchdown catch. There’s an AFC North player from each team on Team Irvin’s offensive line. Latavius Murray led the way for Team Irvin on the ground with 9 rushes for 42 yards, while Doug Martin recorded seven carries for 20 yards to lead Team Rice. This is his third Pro Bowl in as many seasons, but his first as a tackle.
Team Irvin isn’t the only team with players who look to be the future of the National Football League, as Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had a breakout season this past year and joins Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor on Team Rice. Ultimately, the game’s leading receiver was Team Irvin’s Allen Robinson.
The game was played at in Glendale, Ariz., last year.
