Tearful Steve Harvey Apologies to Miss Columbia on His Talk Show (Clips)

Steve Harvey came face-to-face with Miss Universe’s true victor, Pia Wurtzbach, and the first runner-up, Ariadna Gutiérrez, during a two-day Steve Harvey special, following that embarrassing mistake he made at the 2015 pageant.

“No matter how tough it was for me, I can’t imagine how it was for these two women”, Harvey said. “But I have high hopes that this will give great opportunities for me and Miss Colombia, and the rest of the contestants”, she said in her “Good Morning America” guest appearance earlier this month.

Looking back on how he handled the situation, however, Harvey says that he doesn’t have any regrets about walking back out on that stage, despite the embarrassment. “I tried to keep a safe distance from her as not to disrespect her because I didn’t want her to feel too bad. I really was, man, ’cause I got daughters”. “She now realizes it was the best day”.

Our sources say…an NBC producer brokered the deal in which Ariadna Gutierrez appeared on Harvey’s talk show and did a segment for “Today“, as well as Telemundo… all NBC-owned properties. But as hard as it was for me, I didn’t do any interviews because I wanted to talk to the women first.

In Monday’s episode, Wurtzbach tells Harvey to “move forward” and that she forgives him for not initially crowning her the victor.
