Teaser for Jagger-Scorsese HBO music drama ‘Vinyl’ drops
At least, that’s the takeaway from the first teaser for HBO’s Vinyl. The snippet comes with a caption which reads, “More coming your way this week”, hinting that a trailer will probably be released soon.
Also in the cast are Ray Romano as Cannavale’s friend and partner; Olivia Wilde as his wife; Andrew “Dice” Clay as the owner of a radio franchise; and P.J.
Now, he’s back with HBO to do the same for Vinyl, a “ride through the sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip-hop” set in 1970s New York, per the show’s website. Byrne, Joe Caniano, Max Casella, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, and Paul Ben-Victor.
The series’ showrunner is Terence Winter, whose credits include Boardwalk Empire. A premiere date has not yet been determined. Mick Jagger’s son, James, will be playing a young musician who resembles his real-life father.
Just about every vice under the sun is on display through the full trailer, as character after character snorts, counts money, or points guns at one another, undercut by one serious rock and roll soundtrack. “So no, this is not a story of the Rolling Stones or Mick Jagger, although you will see someone in the series that looks startlingly close to Mick”.
A photo of Jagger visiting the set of Vinyl in Brooklyn, New York, was posted recently on the singer’s official Facebook page, along with a message revealing that the sixth episode of the series was being filmed. “Very different period. Very different trajectory”.
