Ted Cruz Gets Attacked from a Place He’d Never Expect
Last cycle’s Iowa Caucus victor Rick Santorum said Tuesday that the current poll-leader in Iowa, Ted Cruz, is inexperienced and a grandstander. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Monday in an effort to differentiate his own tenure in the U.S. Senate.
The Santorum campaign, or whatever is left of it, rolled out a new 60-second ad in Iowa on Monday that is set to air on local cable and digital platforms in the Hawkeye state.
He said he singled out Cruz because of his 2013 speech on the Senate floor against Obamacare that lasted almost 22 hours.
“Rick Santorum spent his time in the Senate a little differently”, the ad continues, drawing a link towards Santorum’s public service to the increased focus and dialogue on national security and the role of our military. And for more than a decade, Rick Santorum has been a leader and fighter… taking on radical Islam.
The ad then quotes to Santorum saying “Not all Muslims are jihadists, but all jihadists are Muslims”.
Voiceover: You want someone to read one helluva bedtime story, Ted Cruz is your guy. “It’s everything from ag economy, to insurance, banking, to financial, you name it. It’s a great mixture of people that reside here and I think it gives America a good taste of what they expect of some of these candidates”, said Greg Edwards, president of the Greater Des Moines convention and visitors bureau.
In a release from the Cruz campaign the candidate says King’s leadership will be an asset to his team. “I endorse Ted Cruz for president because I know that he will do what he says he will do, despite strong political headwinds from D.C. insiders, and will work each day to make this country a better place for every American”. I kind of suggest that maybe something has changed.
