Ted Cruz Is Sorry For His New York Comments … Maybe
The jab appeared to be an attempt to dismantle Trump’s identity as a conservative, but many said it backfired after an emotional response from Trump, who was born and raised in Queens.
“You give a campaign contribution to Ted Cruz, you get whatever the hell you want”, Trump told a tea party gathering in the early voting state of SC.
On Saturday morning and afternoon, Trump got especially aggressive on Twitter. Many, if not most, legal experts believe that is enough to qualify as a “natural-born” United States citizen under the Constitution, but Trump has spread doubts about Cruz’s eligibility daily for almost two weeks. Lawsuits have just been filed with more to follow.
Trump ended his 45-minute speech by taking shots at Cruz, his closest rival in the Republican presidential race. “Then finds out that on his personal disclosure form, he didn’t disclose that he’s borrowing a lot of money from Goldman Sachs”, Trump said.
“You know, I think most people know exactly what NY values are”, Cruz said. “Goldman Sachs owns him, he will do anything they demand”, he wrote. “Not much of a reformer!” So far, there is no response from Trump, Clinton, or Cuomo to Cruz’s latest comments.
“I apologize to all the cops and the firefighters and 9/11 heroes who had no choice but to stand and turn their backs on Mayor de Blasio because Mayor de Blasio over and over again stands with the looters and the criminals rather than the fearless men and women of blue”, he said, CNN reports.
Real-estate mogul Donald Trump’s attacks against Sen.
“I like what he’s saying, and I’d love for him to have a role in the administration, but I want Ted to be president”, she said. “I think the American people are looking for a commander-in-chief who is stable and steady and a calm hand to keep this country safe”.
“He spoke very disparagingly about the people of New York”, Trump said of Cruz.
“Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal, pro-abortion or pro- gay marriage, focused around money and the media”. And he dredged up the former Democrat’s donation history to some of the state’s leading politicians, including Hillary Clinton. “Donald knows it’s a nonissue”, Cruz said on Sean Hannity’s syndicated radio show. He then asked supporters to make a donation of at least $25. Hey, I lived in New York City and Manhattan all my life so my views are a little bit different than if I lived in Iowa, perhaps, but [gays openly serving in the military] is not something that would disturb me.
