Ted Cruz just rocketed upward in a new Iowa poll
Cruz’s 13-point rise in the last month mirrors the latest CBS News Battleground Tracker released Sunday, which showed Cruz at 21 percent behind Trump, who notched 30 percent, while Carson had 19 percent support.
Because Donald Trump continues to go against established fact with his claim that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrated on 9/11, his campaign manager accused the media today of putting on a conspiracy to hide the evidence proving him right.
Carson, meanwhile, saw support drop by double-digits, receiving just 18 percent of the vote among Iowa Republicans in the new survey.
Ted Cruz (Texas) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie would also win hypothetical elections, according to the new poll, taken after more than 100 people were killed and more than 300 others injured in a wave of terrorist attacks in Paris.
The February 1 Iowa caucuses, the first contest for the Republican presidential nomination, has become “a two-tiered” affair, Brown said.
Brown says Cruz is taking advantage of the decline in Ben Carson’s appeal among Christians and Evangelicals, who are a large chunk of the Iowa caucus vote.
“Worth remembering, however, is that winning Iowa is no guarantee of success elsewhere”.
Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for President, has been described as a carny act gone political and an entertainer who wants to be President.
“Trump is plain wrong, and he is shamefully politicising an emotionally charged issue”, said Fulop. Carly Fiorina also garnered 3 percent support. Only Carson and Rubio are more likable among Republican voters, with Carson scoring a net favorability of 49 and Rubio scoring a 48. By a margin of 83% to 9%, they say the United States and its allies are now losing to ISIS.
Other interesting tidbits into the minds of Iowa likely Republican Caucus participants: They oppose 81 – 15 percent allowing Syrian refugees into the USA and oppose 82 – 13 percent allowing them into Iowa.
Carson still gets the best favorability rating, 79 percent, followed by 73 percent approval for Cruz, 70 percent for Rubio and 59 percent for Trump.
