Ted Cruz talks condoms, college days in Bettendorf
On Thursday morning, the real estate mogul will be speaking before the Republican Jewish Coalition at their presidential forum in Washington, where the pro-Israel audience will be looking for candidates to come out strongly in favor of the Jewish state. His numbers have moved up and down a bit but have stayed between 22 and 30 percent since early August.
The Quinnipiac University Poll, directed by Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D., conducts public opinion surveys in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and the nation as a public service and for research.
And Clinton’s lead over GOP challengers has picked up from the previous poll.
Trump, who was at 24 per cent one month ago, has topped nearly all Republican polls since July.
Leading Carson 47 – 41 percent.
The Democratic socialist also has a higher favorability rating than Clinton, Trump, Carson, Rubio or Cruz, whereas Clinton is the only candidate besides Trump with a negative favorability rating. Those numbers suggest that a race fought between Clinton and Rubio would be closer than one fought between Clinton and Trump. Given that Carson has struggled to grasp foreign policy, changing voter concerns might well explain the candidate’s fall in support. Republican primary turnout wasn’t robust in 2008 or 2012.
The memo also warns candidates to distance themselves from Trump’s comments about women. Asked if he believed critics who said antiabortion rhetoric resulted in the shooting, Carson equivocated – and was later blasted by key members of his base. The Hillary Clinton campaign isn’t tolerating Ted Cruz’s lies. A new national Quinnipiac poll released today probably isn’t going to help. “Hillary Clinton embraces abortion on demand in all circumstances up until the moment of birth, partial birth abortion with taxpayer funding with no notification for parents in any circumstances”, Cruz said.
It’s theoretically possible that Chris Christie (endorsed by the New Hampshire Union Leader) or John Kasich could jump into contention by winning or placing in New Hampshire.
Other GOP candidates included Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, John Kasich and Rick Santorum.
Cruz, who no doubt thinks he will be the nominee, continues to say nice things about Trump, however, saying the NY businessman has framed the central question of the 2016 election: “Who will stand up to Washington?” An even worse nightmare: if a disgruntled Trump runs as an independent candidate.
