Ted Cruz to Donald Trump: Sue me
Florida Senator Rubio hopes to get a boost from SC voters, where Republicans on Saturday hold their third contest after Iowa and New Hampshire to pick a party nominee for the November 8 presidential election.
“You have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for your entire adult life”, said Cruz, a Harvard Law School graduate, speaking directly to Trump.
When Matthews asked him about whether he notices fear in the American electorate, Kasich told him, “I think there are people that are very nervous about Trump and there are people that, you know, Bernie says he’s a socialist, so you know, people don’t like socialists”. Even in the annals of frivolous lawsuits this takes the cake.
“He is a liar and these ads and statements made by Cruz are clearly desperate moves by a guy who is tanking in the polls – watching his campaign go up in flames finally explains Cruz’s logo”, Trump said, in a reference to the flame included in Cruz’s campaign logo. The spot, like many Cruz’s campaign has released, centers on a 1999 interview in which Trump described himself as “very pro-choice”.
So, Jeb Bush brought out his brother for a campaign rally in SC on Tuesday, where W. attacked Trump by quoting their father saying “labels are for soup cans”.
In its own letter, the Cruz campaign called the threats “laughable” and said: “Are you seriously suggesting that the voter should not be allowed to hear what Mr. Trump has said or know what Mr. Trump has done?”
Rubio sees Haley’s endorsement as providing “a lift to come in second” in the Palmetto State’s primary, a source close to the campaign told CNN. And for anyone that actually cares about conservative judges, I’ll tell you Anderson, there is no universe in which I could write a check to Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Joe Biden or Jimmy Carter.
Cruz also hit Trump for alleging that the country was not safe under President George W. Bush’s watch given the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, during his first year in office.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) trailed with 19% support, followed by Sen. Meyers quoted a Republican official saying that Trump’s comments will backfire, and if they don’t nothing will stop him. “It is hard to believe a person who proclaims to be a Christian could be so dishonest and lie so much”, he said.
The latest national Reuters/Ipsos poll showed Trump taking a more than 20-point lead over Cruz in the Republican race.
The two-term governor, one of the most popular Republicans in the state, has found those words to say. Cruz also called the cease-and-desist letter “illegal”. Wednesday, the Texas senator said bring it on.
But the quote Trump repeated Tuesday was from the blogger, not Coburn. Marco Rubio over alleged dirty tricks leading up to Saturday’s South Carolina GOP primary.
“For that particular venture, I may not use outside counsel, I may take the deposition myself”, Cruz bragged in a press conference in SC, three days ahead of the GOP primary there.
