Ted Cruz turns ‘Simpsons’ jobseeker; he’ll take any part
Now, in a video published by Buzzfeed Tuesday, it appears he’s also throwing his hat in the ring to be Harry Shearer’s replacement on The Simpsons, a show he’s made clear he’s a fan of.
The Texas Senator, known for his hard-line conservatism and relentless opposition to President Barack Obama’s health care law, sat down with the internet media organization Buzzfeed to record impressions of a series of characters from “The Simpsons”.
Cruz said his favorite episodes of the show are “Round Springfield” (1995), in which a popular jazz musician passed away, and “Treehouse of Horror VII” (1996), which depicted a presidential debate between two space aliens – Kodos and the aforementioned Kang. Shearer is retiring, and reportedly turned down millions to come back for the 27th season of the show.
Cruz gives his best version of Burns, the rich and evil owner of the town’s nuclear power plant, and Flanders, Home Simpson’s jovial next-door neighbor.

Cruz has regularly shared his “Simpsons” fandom, sometimes tweeting out short clips in connection with political news.
