Teen bitten by shark in South Carolina
Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Rescue says they’ve heard there was a shark in the area, but that information has not been confirmed.
Thursday, in the seaside South Carolina town of Murrells Inlet, a 15 year-old boy from Virginia was enjoying the water when he was attacked by a shark. When he tried to swat the animal away with his arm, the shark bit him on the hand.
The victim was swimming in chest-deep water when the incident occurred.
A 15-year-old boy was bitten Thursday by a shark in Garden City, witnesses on the scene said.
He says the bleeding was stopped and bandaged at the beach and the youngster was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The victim suffered several large lacerations to her right leg near the knee, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
“He was attacked by at least a 4-foot shark”.
