Telemundo reporter viscously attacked during live shoot outside Philadelphia City Hall
Delgado, a reporter for Philadelphia’s Spanish-language Telemundo 62, was making a live report for the 11 p.m. news from outside Philadelphia’s City Hall.
Delgado, a reporter with NBCUniversal since November 2013, complained of pain in the right side of her head afterward, but said she would seek treatment at a later time, according to police.
Iris Delgado was filing a news report outside Philadelphia City Hall in Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening when the shocking “assault” took place.
But as the screen splits, the woman grabs hold of the reporters hair and punches her in the face.
The woman, identified as 37-year-old Waheedah Wilson, was pushed away by the news crew, after the camera cut off, and was then arrested by police and charged with assault.
In enacted, the City of Brotherly Love would be first large USA city to impose a levy on such drinks. “Journalist Iris Delgado was reminded about the hazards of her profession and the perils of live on-site broadcasts in an unexpected way Wednesday night”, Western Journalism observed.
Both Telemundo 62 and Delgado have been contacted for comment.
