Tennessee lineman Mosley arrested, charged with DUI
Tennessee redshirt freshman lineman Charles Mosley was arrested early Wednesday morning for first-offense DUI and speeding, according to an arrest warrant.
According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, Mosley was pulled over a 1:51 a.m. for allegedly driving 79 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone.
Officers administered a field sobriety test which the report says he “performed poorly on”.
When the deputy walked up to the vehicle they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the cab. It also states Mosley said he hadn’t been smoking, but that he had been visiting friends who were smoking.
“We are aware of the situation and at this point in time are in the process of gathering all of the facts and information”, Yellin wrote in a text message.
The arresting officer searched the vehicle and allegedly found “marijuana residue” in the front passenger area and back seat.
Mosley consented to a blood test and was taken to the Knox County Detention Facility where the blood draw took place.
Mosley’s arraignment is scheduled for July 29 at 10 a.m.
A UT spokesman did not return a phone call about Mosley’s arrest on Wednesday. He was rated a four-star defensive tackle as recruit in the class of 2014, but was moved to the offensive line during spring practice.
