Tensions high at pro Trump rally at the Capitol
Supporters of President Trump staged rallies from coast to coast – including demonstrations outside Trump Tower in NY, the Washington Monument and Trump’s Florida resort – to show their pride in his presidency and to protest what they called “a seditious fringe” and “insidious propaganda” that is dividing the country. In several cities, the rallies were met by counter-demonstrations and some arrests.

They said they’re tired of turning on the television and seeing protests and rallies against the president, and want to show that there are many who support him.
In Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump is staying this weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort, the president’s motorcade stopped and Trump stepped outside his vehicle to wave at a crowd of dozens of supporters. She referred to Trump’s supporters – the so-called “Basket of Deplorables” – as “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic”.
Organizers said rallies to support the President were planned in about 50 cities nationwide, including New York, Nashville, Tennessee, Austin, Texas, and Denver, Colorado.
“That’s the thing I have to keep reminding people: this isn’t so much liberals versus conservatives, and so on and so forth”, he said, adding that some in the Bay Area smeared the march before it even began.
“Anyone who disagrees with you, they throw this word around”.
“Don’t make them the story”, he said to supporters.
Ledbetter asked protesters multiple times why they were there and would want to interrupt a peaceful event organized to rally support for the president.
A group of counter protesters gathered nearby, separated from the rally by police tape.
There will be another pro-Trump rally in the same location on March 25.
According to The Daily Californian, at least ten people were arrested and three were injured after anarchists clashed with Trump supporters.
About 300 people attended the “March 4 Trump” rally at Martin Luther King Jr. The Austin American-Statesman notes that pro-Trump “attendees are told to bring donations for the homeless and veterans, such as canned goods, clothing, blankets and hygiene products, according to the [organizers’] Facebook page”. She said she’s pleased that the president has followed through on his campaign promises. She stood next to the cutout, which the family has taken it with them on camping trips, boat rides and a country music festival, while holding a Trump banner on the hill at the bottom of the steps facing out toward busy Lincoln Street and a group of anti-Trump demonstrators corralled on the sidewalk by police.
While there were a few Trump supporters purposely agitating the protesters, St. Paul police report six arrests, all of them anti-Trump protesters.
Chanting reverberated through the Capitol rotunda during the dueling protests.
Some minor scuffles broke out, quickly broken up by other protesters and police officers.
